An essential approach to preserving air transport, a vector of economic and social connections across the regions we serve.

After years of evolution and technological developments in particular, air transport now faces one of the greatest challenges of its time: its fourth revolution – decarbonisation-. Today, air transport accounts for around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions: to continue operating while reducing the impact of its activities on its stakeholders, it is essential that the air transport sector reinvents itself through innovation.

The sector is undergoing radical change and is working on a technological leap forward with the new generation of aircraft, designed to consume 30% less fuel. In addition, extensive work is being done on alternative fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which will play an increasingly prominent role, with a substantial increase in use by 2050. As an airline, Corsair is fully committed to this approach, particularly by optimising both ground and in-flight operations.

As a gateway to the destinations it serves, our airline plays a key role in enhancing their tourist appeal and supporting their economies. However, these destinations and their communities are also vulnerable to the environmental impact of climate change, particularly in terms of quality of life and ecosystem preservation..

Corsair therefore carries a strong responsibility towards these destinations, , a responsibility the company honours by innovating to reduce its environmental impact while promoting tourism and economic development in the regions its serves.

« ‘In a sector like aviation, our responsibility goes beyond simply transporting passengers. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the core of our strategy, enabling us to reconcile economic growth, environmental performance and social commitment. By integrating sustainable practices, we are building a more responsible future for aviation while meeting the expectations of our passengers and stakeholders.’ Pascal de Izaguirre, Chairman and CEO of Corsair

Three major ambitions supported by all Corsair employees:

The company's CSR policy is steered by the Operational Support department, and each department is responsible for translating this policy into concrete actions relevant to its own scope.

Ambition 1 : Use innovation to improve environmental efficiency

Corsair is a French airline which has been operating scheduled long-haul flights for over forty years. As an expert in its field, the airline is constantly innovating in both flight preparation and ground operations, to enhance the environmental performance of its operations, ensuring the highest safety standards for all customers.

  • 100% of the Corsair fleet renewed by the end of 2024
  • 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per seat with the A330neo (compared to older generation aircraft)
  • 60% reduction in noise footprint with the A330neo (compared to older generation aircraft)
  • Reduction of nearly 6,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over 12 months (July 2023 - June 2024) through eco-piloting measures
  • Recycling the equivalent weight of one bus, thanks to the waste management project launched in Martinique in March 2024. Over five years, this project, led by Corsair with ITEDOM and Newrest, will prevent the landfilling of waste equivalent to the weight of an Airbus A319.

A Fuel Efficiency programme to optimise flights - from preparation to flight operations using eco-piloting techniques - to reduce CO2 emissions:
