What are the mandatory documents for the transport of animals by freight?
Documents are required for transporting animals by freight. You must be have:
- the signed shipper's declaration which is a compulsory waiver;
- An LTA indicating an emergency number but also the type and number of animals transported.
- Documents from CITES (for any species which may belong to one of sub-divisions I, II, III, i.e. species who are protected or threatened by extinction);
- invoices (for shipments from breeders to breeders who are subject to customs taxes);
- Health certificates and serological tests (anti-rabies for dogs and cats, new castle for chickens and parrots, myxomatosis for rabbits, etc.)
- Other: permits required by national authorities, information concerning sedatives or tranquilizers administered to animals.
Important information:
To transport kittens and puppies, as a general rule, it is advised to refuse of little ones of less than 4 months or not weaned. A dog or a cat whose rabies vaccine does not comply, shall not be accepted for transport (Incubation: 1 month).
Poisonous animals or insects not to mention animals suffering from infectious diseases which can be passed on to humans are not allowed on the Corsair aircraft.
