What are the travel formalities for minors?

Réponse

A baby under 2 must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age (only 1 baby per adult).

A child under 12 years of age and not UM must travel with an adult over 18 years of age.
The persons responsible for the child must ensure that the child meets the formalities for leaving the territory and entering the country of destination.

Since 26 June 2012, new European regulations have required all passengers, children and adults, to travel with an individual identity document when leaving the European Union. This document can be a passport or an identity card depending on the destination. It is therefore no longer possible to include a child in a parent's passport.

The family booklet is not an Id Card. It therefore does not allow the child to take a flight.

Minor unaccompanied by a parent :

Regulation regardless of the destination:

  • Valid identity document of the minor + possible visa according to the requirements of the country of destination
  • Photocopy of the valid identity document of the signing parent: identity card, passport or residence permit
  • Form signed by one of the parents holding parental authority

If the parents of the minor child are non-European :

  • Valid identity document of the minor + possible visa according to the requirements of the country of destination
  • Photocopy of the valid identity document of the signing parent : identity card, passport, valid residence permit or identity and travel document for refugees or stateless persons
