What should I know about my pet's journey to and from Mayotte?

Before traveling with your pet between France and Mayotte and Reunion and Mayotte, it is important to know its entry conditions.

Prior import authorization must be requested before the trip, regardless of the animal.

Once completed, please send the certificate to the following e-mail address: alimentation.daaf976@agriculture.gouv.fr Accompanied by a description of the animal, a copy of its identification card, a copy of his passport and his current vaccinations. These documents must be sent at least 1 week before departure.

Entry formalities for your pet to Mayotte

• Dogs and cats must be over 15 weeks old,
• He must have an identification (electronic identification or clearly legible tattoo made before 07/03/2011),
• He must have a European passport provided and completed by a veterinarian,
• Prior import authorization must be requested from the DAAF food service. See document attached above,
• Ferrets, reptiles and amphibians are prohibited from entry, 
• Domestic rabbits must be identified,
• Aviary birds must be identified,
• These animals must not be intended for sale.
