I travel with a bird in the cabin
Before departure, you must absolutely inform by yourself of the phytosanitary conditions of acceptance in the country of destination and transit.
Your bird must be vaccinated and, at registration, you must present an international health certificate for the transit of animals.
This certificate is issued by the veterinary services and states that your pet has been examined and found free of any clinical signs of disease.
If your pet is a pet bird, it can travel in the cabin or in the hold.
Please note that certain breeds of birds are not authorised for transport. In case of doubt, we invite you to contact our Customer Service.
If your bird travels in the cabin, it must be placed in a covered metal cage (length + width + depth = 115 cm maximum).
Your pet is not included in your cabin baggage allowance. You will therefore have to pay a baggage allowance of :
- Eur 75 per leg between Paris and Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre, Mayotte or Reunion island;
- Eur 150 per leg between Paris and Montreal or Abidjan.
2 birds can share the same cage in the cabin, provided that their combined weight does not exceed 8 kilos, and that their cage remains within the cabin luggage dimensions ((length + width + depth = 115 cm maximum).
Above this weight, your bird will need to travel in the hold instead of the cabin.
If your bird travels in the hold (animal weighing more than 8 kg), you will need to pay the following allowance fee :
- Eur 150 per leg between Paris and Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre, Mayotte or Reunion island.
- Eur 300 per leg between Paris and Montreal or Abidjan.
Please note:
Some breeds are protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and are allowed to travel by freight only.
Please report to "unaccompanied luggage" section.
